Allegro.ai receives funding from Hyundai and Launches Startup and Partner programs

Hyundai announced this week its strategic investment in allegro.ai, a leading technology company specializing in deep learning (DL) – based computer vision.

Founded in 2016, allegro.ai offers the first end-to-end DL lifecycle management solution focused on deep learning as it applies to computer vision. The company’s platform simplifies the process of developing and managing deep learning-powered solutions – such as autonomous vehicles, drones, security, logistics and others.

Hyundai is not the only industry leader who took notice in allegro.ai. Earlier in the year Ingrid Lunden wrote a story for TechCrunch about allegro.ai explaining that “the presence of strategic investors speaks to the interest that the startup has sparked and the gap in the market for what it is offering.”

According to Hyundai executives, deep learning computer vision is one of the core technologies that can be applied to autonomous driving to navigate roads and make quick decisions in realtime – and allegro.ai is clearly an innovation leader in that field.

Along with this announcement allegro.ai launched its new startup program making its enterprise grade solution available to selected startups that exhibit the potential to create revolutionary solutions but lack the infrastructure to do so.

The ecosystem surrounding deep learning (talent, tools, infrastructure, etc.) is underdeveloped. The tools, platforms and systems we take for granted in traditional software development do not exist as standardized commercial solutions in the deep learning arena. The Startup Program is allegro.ai’s contribution to facilitating the proliferation of enterprise-grade AI technologies.

Today, the advanced deep learning ecosystem mostly relies on research, and the challenge facing companies in general and startups specifically is to scale DL from research phases into development and production.

This is not the only news coming out from allegro.ai. The company also launched its Partner Program, following dry-runs with select partners. System integrators and professional services providers can now leverage allegro.ai’s platform to create Grade-A deep learning computer vision products and services for their customers.

allegro.ai also addresses one of the major concerns large companies have – their reluctance to expose their data or models to system integrators. By leveraging allegro.ai’s platform and products, system integrators and professional service providers can provide services and solutions to their customers, without being exposed to their customers’ data.

“We are proud to partner with Hyundai and share Hyundai’s belief that AI empowers the industry to provide greater road safety and autonomy, to better understand customers’ needs and to help broaden their experiences,” said Nir Bar-Lev, CEO and Co-Founder of allegro.ai. “Whether a company is developing autonomous vehicles, drones, security solutions, or other types of applications, allegro.ai makes it easy for them to manage their data sets and build deep learning-based solutions while guaranteeing complete and confidential control of their data.”
