NO Earns 44 International Festival Recognitions for Ahmad Alameldeen
The internationally acclaimed short film NO has achieved remarkable success on the global festival circuit, collecting an outstanding 44 international recognitions including award wins, finalist selections, honorable mentions, nominations, quarter-finalist, and semi-finalist placements.
Directed by Ahmad Alameldeen, the film has emerged as one of the most recognized AI-assisted micro-short films in the independent cinema scene, earning praise from festivals across Asia, Europe, North America, and beyond.
Among its biggest achievements are 22 Award Wins from prestigious international festivals. The film won at the Bangkok Movie Awards in the One-Minute Film category, while the East Village New York Film Festival, FIVE CONTINENTS INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL, Florence Film Awards, and Paris Film Awards honored the project with victories in the Super Short Film category.
The film also secured major victories for artificial intelligence filmmaking, including Best AI Film at the Global Film Festival Awards and Best Artificial Intelligence Film at the World Class Film Awards. The SLASH EYES INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL awarded the project Best AI (Artificial Intelligence) Short Film, further cementing its reputation in the AI cinema movement.
Additional victories included Best Short Film awards at the Gully International Film Festival 9th Edition, iDEAL INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL, JhaJha International Film Festival, Nawada International Film Festival 7th Season, Rajgir International Film Festival, Nalanda, and SJFIFF 4th Season.
The Kollywood International Film Festival recognized the production with Best International Short Film, while the International Celebration of Cinema presented the film with the Best Ultra Short Film award.
Further honors included Short Film victories at the MAYKOP INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL and Momòhill Film Fair, as well as the Short Film Competition title at the War of Films.
A major milestone came at the Nawada International Film Festival 7th Season, where Ahmad Alameldeen personally received the Best Male Director award. The New York Movie Awards additionally honored him with the First Time Director award.
The film’s creative visual style was also celebrated internationally, earning Best Animation – Main Category at the RED MOVIE AWARDS.
Beyond its award victories, NO achieved 6 Finalist Selections at notable global events. These included the Antakya International Film Festival for AI-Generated Short Film, the Cannes World Film Festival for Best Artificial Intelligence Film, the Markham Talent Short Film for AI Assisted Short Film, the New York International Film Awards™ – NYIFA for Best AI Film, the SAFAL International Film & Short Film Festival 2026 for AI Generated Short Films, and the SEOUL INTERNATIONAL AI Film Festival for AI Film.
The project also received 5 Honorable Mentions. These came from the Asian Independent Film Festival for Best Short Film (Within 40 minutes), the Barcelona Planet Film Festival for Best AI Film, the Beyond Border International Film Festival for AI Generated Film, the BLACK AI FEST – International A.I Film Academy Festival & Awards for Best AI-Short Film, and the Kraken International Film Festival for All Categories Short Film + Grand Prix.
In the nominee category, the film earned recognition at the Jaipur International Film Festival under Films Nominated at Oscar 2026 (Short Fiction/Live Action) – Official Entry to the Oscars. It was also nominated for Best AI Film (Artificial Intelligence Film) at the ORION IFF International Film Festival and for AI Short Film (under 5 minutes) at the Subtelny Cinema and AI Festival.
Additional recognitions included a Quarter-Finalist placement at the Hollywood AI Short Film Awards for Best AI Short Film.
The film also became a Semi-Finalist at several respected international events including the AI Film Awards Venice for AI Short Film, DARK-LAND for Short Film, Film Revolution for Best Animation, FilmHaus for Best Narrative Micro-Length, Filmonaco for Best Micro-Short Film – 5 minutes max, Los Angeles Film Awards for Best AI Film (Artificial Intelligence based project), and Nocturna for Micro-Short Film.
With a total of 44 international recognitions, NO has established itself as a standout achievement in contemporary AI-supported filmmaking, while further elevating the international profile of filmmaker Ahmad Alameldeen on the global independent cinema stage.
