From Battlefield to Big Screen: The Remarkable Journey of Major Vijay Bhargavan
From a small-town boy with big dreams to a decorated Army officer, corporate leader, and now a rising name in Malayalam cinema, Major Vijay Bhargavan’s life has unfolded like a film script of its own.
Raised between Kerala and Oman, Vijay pursued his early education before earning a degree in Automobile Engineering from Anna University, Chennai, followed by a master’s in Marine Engineering from the University of Strathclyde in the UK. Yet, his true calling emerged when he returned to India to join the Armed Forces.
For 11 years, Vijay served with distinction in the Indian Army, including five years with the elite Special Forces. A weapons and armament specialist, he holds advanced qualifications in Armament Technology from the Military College of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers, Secunderabad, and the EME School, Baroda. His time in uniform instilled discipline, resilience, and leadership—qualities that continue to define his path beyond the Army.
After retiring from active service, Vijay transitioned into the corporate sector, where he now serves as a Senior Manager at a leading American multinational. Parallel to his professional career, he has embraced his artistic passions, stepping into acting and music with striking success.
On screen, Vijay has already appeared in three Malayalam films—Sahasam, Balti, and the upcoming Tikitaka. In music, he has pioneered a distinctive fusion of rap, rock, and Indian cultural themes. His debut single, Rise of the Brave, stands as the first English rap-rock anthem dedicated to the Indian Army. This was followed by Aghori Flow, an English rap tribute to Lord Shiva, and Bravery in the Trenches, released on Kargil Vijay Diwas 2025 to honor India’s fallen soldiers.
Today, with over 150,000 followers on social media, Vijay Bhargavan is celebrated as a rare multi-hyphenate—soldier, scholar, corporate leader, actor, singer, and influencer. His journey is a testament to the spirit of reinvention, proving that life after the Army can be just as dynamic and impactful as life in uniform.
