Early Life and Education
Archil Cheishvili is a Georgian-born technology leader best known as the co-founder of GenesisAI, a global artificial intelligence marketplace. He was born and raised in the Republic of Georgia during the post-Soviet 1990s—a time when the country faced widespread poverty, corruption, frequent power outages, and underdeveloped infrastructure. Witnessing these hardships instilled in Cheishvili a strong desire to help eradicate poverty and improve access to basic necessities in his community. From an early age, he aspired to build solutions that could uplift living standards in Georgia and beyond.
Determined to gain the skills needed to make a real impact, Cheishvili set his sights on obtaining the best education possible. This ambition led him to apply to Harvard College. He became the first male undergraduate student from the nation of Georgia to attend Harvard College. At Harvard, he immersed himself in a broad liberal arts curriculum, studying economics, philosophy, and computer science. He ultimately earned a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, while also engaging deeply with extracurricular activities. Cheishvili was president of three student clubs (including the Harvard College Entrepreneurship Forum) and an active member of the Harvard Debate Union.
During his college years, Cheishvili’s academic focus and career interests began to crystallize. An internship at Bridgewater Associates, the world’s largest hedge fund, exposed him to high-level investment research and the power of data-driven decision making. However, it was a computer science elective in his senior year that truly set his future path. Intrigued by the emerging potential of artificial intelligence, he dove into AI coursework and projects. Early Career and First Startup
Upon graduating from Harvard, Archil Cheishvili embarked on an entrepreneurial path. In 2016, drawing on his interests in AI and business productivity, he founded Palatine Analytics, employee performance analytics startup. The company developed a platform that used machine learning to analyze workplace performance and provide insights for managers. Under Cheishvili’s leadership as founder and CEO, Palatine Analytics gained early recognition – the platform won multiple awards for its innovative approach to performance. This venture provided Cheishvili with hands-on experience in building products and managing a tech startup team.
Running Palatine Analytics also gave Cheishvili a front-row view of the broader AI landscape around 2016–2017. He noticed a critical gap: most AI systems existed in silos and could not easily communicate or share data with one another. For example, a company might use separate AI models for sales forecasting, customer support, and marketing, none of which interacted or learned from each other. This lack of connectivity between AI tools limited their collective effectiveness. Cheishvili realized that enabling AI systems to interoperate could unlock much greater value – effectively, the sum of many AIs working together would be far more powerful than each in isolation. This insight laid the groundwork for his next venture.
Founding GenesisAI and Vision for a Global AI Marketplace
In 2018, Archil Cheishvili co-founded GenesisAI, the venture that would bring his connectivity idea to life. GenesisAI was conceived as a global marketplace for artificial intelligence, where developers could buy and sell AI products and services and, crucially, where different AI algorithms could interact with each other across a common platform. Cheishvili started building the company in Cambridge, MA assembling a team of fellow Harvard alumni and engineers to tackle this ambitious project.
The core premise of GenesisAI is to enable AIs to communicate, exchange data, and trade services with one another in a seamless way. By creating a standardized protocol and marketplace infrastructure, GenesisAI aims to break down the “silos” between AI models. This concept has often been described as creating an “Alibaba of AI” – marketplace for AI products and services.
Since its founding, GenesisAI has made significant strides. The company launched its online marketplace platform and began onboarding AI models. By 2022, GenesisAI reported having dozens of AI tools deployed and a growing base of users on the platform. One early focus area was AI for asset management (finance), given Cheishvili’s experience in investing; GenesisAI built tools to assist investment firms with AI-driven analytics. Over time the marketplace expanded to cover AI services in domains like marketing, vision, NLP (natural language processing), and more. He has also been published in Forbes as a member of the Forbes Technology Council, writing about AI trends and definitions; one Forbes piece by Cheishvili explaining the spectrum from narrow AI to AGI was later cited in author Glenn Beck’s 2023 book Dark Future.
