A Bold New Direction for Animation and TV

With a focus on animation, The Elf Garden is positioning itself as a key player in the world of TV series production. The studio’s slate is highlighted by an eclectic mix of original series, each promising to deliver distinctive storytelling, rich characters, and bold visuals. From wild sci-fi adventures to historical reimaginings, each project reflects the creative sensibilities of its founders, who have long been a force in the world of alternative filmmaking and entertainment.

“We’ve created a space where the unexpected is the norm,” said Richard Elfman, the company’s co-founder and creative visionary. “Each project is designed to entertain, challenge, and most importantly, leave audiences with a smile on their face.”

The following projects are part of The Elf Garden’s inaugural lineup:

Little Pancho

Animation, Comedy, Fantasy | TV Series

Written and created by Richard Elfman, Little Pancho is a whimsical reimagining of the legendary folk hero Pancho Villa, with a comedic twist. In this animated series, Pancho Villa’s younger years are explored through a fantastic lens, where he is saved from certain death by a little mouse also named Pancho. The two embark on a series of revolutionary misadventures, with the smaller Pancho often finding himself tangled in hilariously chaotic scenarios.

With music from acclaimed composer Ego Plum, Little Pancho promises to bring the rich culture and vibrant music of the time to life, combining historical references with a playful, fantasy-driven narrative.

Space Wars

Animation, Comedy, Fantasy | TV Series

A parody of the sci-fi genre, Space Wars is a spacefaring comedy series that pokes fun at the tropes of classic space operas. Captain Dukey Flyswatter, along with his horse-faced companion “Jack Ass” and a cigar-smoking alien called “Google-Baby,” journey across the galaxy causing havoc in their wake. The addition of Princess Shtay-La further complicates their chaotic escapades.

Written by Richard Elfman and featuring music from Danny Elfman and Ego Plum, Space Wars is poised to be a hilarious satire of space exploration, with the humor ramped up to the max.

Witch and the Wizard

Animation, Comedy, Fantasy | TV Series

Witch and the Wizard takes aim at the narcissistic personalities that dominate modern media. The show follows a witch and a wizard who host the world’s most popular podcast, using their supernatural powers to “punk” their celebrity guests. Combining sharp social satire with magic and mayhem, the series promises a fast-paced, outrageously funny look at fame, ego, and the absurdity of the media landscape.

With music by Danny Elfman and Ego Plum, Witch and the Wizard mixes topical humor with fantastical elements in an animated format.

Forbidden Zone: The Animated Series

Animation, Comedy, Fantasy | TV Series

Based on the cult-hit 1980s film Forbidden Zone, this animated series expands on the bizarre, surreal universe that was introduced in the original movie. A music-driven adventure, the series delves into the wacky world above ground and the even wackier underworld below, where chaos reigns and the bizarre is the norm.

With the original creative team of Richard Elfman and musical contributions from Danny Elfman and Ego Plum, Forbidden Zone promises to be as wild and eccentric as its live-action predecessor.

Bloody Bridget: The Animated Series

Animation, Comedy, Fantasy | TV Series

In a lighter, more comedic tone than its film counterpart, Bloody Bridget takes viewers on a rollicking ride through a world of voodoo, vampires, and colorful characters. Based on the characters from the 2019 film, this animated series adds humor to the supernatural drama and is sure to appeal to fans of both horror and comedy.

With music from Danny Elfman and Ego Plum, Bloody Bridget promises to be a high-energy, fun-filled series with a dose of dark, supernatural flair.

Taste World with Scott Roughgarden

Travel, Documentary | TV Series

In an exciting departure from the animated series lineup, Taste World is a travel documentary series hosted by international wine expert Scott Roughgarden. In each episode, Roughgarden travels to different wine-producing regions, exploring local food, culture, history, and of course, wine. The show will also spotlight chefs, vintners, and musicians, providing a rich, immersive experience for viewers.

Produced and directed by Richard Elfman, Taste World combines the pleasures of travel and food with the expertise of Roughgarden, offering a new way to experience the world of wine and culture.

A Star-Studded Team of Creatives

All of The Elf Garden projects boast an impressive roster of talent. Richard Elfman, best known for his work on the cult classic Forbidden Zone and his other eccentric film projects, serves as writer and director for most of the animated series. Scott Roughgarden, a seasoned wine expert and producer, executive produces many of the shows while also taking center stage as the host of Taste World. The team is rounded out by the involvement of supervising producer David Silverman (known for his work on The Simpsons) and renowned composers Danny Elfman and Ego Plum, who bring their distinctive musical styles to multiple projects.

Looking Ahead

With its bold blend of comedy, fantasy, and cultural exploration, The Elf Garden is positioning itself as a creative force to be reckoned with in Hollywood. As the studio looks to the future, these initial projects represent just the beginning of what promises to be an exciting and dynamic lineup.
