The Multitalented Woman Sheena J B Worthington Shares About Her Journey to Fame

[12 January, 2024] — The latest interview of the UKTechHarmonics and sheenasamazingbooks founder that recently launched, Sheena J B Worthington, was a guest to learn a wealth of knowledge from. From reaching the pinnacle of academic achievements to winning the beauty pageants, the woman of force to be reckoned with has achieved it all in her life. In the interview, Ms Worthington confidently expressed her belief in her ability to accomplish anything. Her impressive resume aptly represents her perseverance, dedication, and adherence to her work and personal life.
She was born on July 24th in 1985. Her birth name was Sheena Jamila Chang Baldoz and nickname is Jamila. In addition to all the roles she effortlessly glides herself into, she is also a mother. She penned a children’s book exclusively to bring a fresh mindset into the market for children, who had previously been limited to fairytales far from reality. When asked what keeps her going every day, she happily shared,
‘I mean, we have twenty-four hours in a day. I make every moment of my hour, minute and second. I am grateful to be living the perfect life. I know nothing is perfect in this world, but accepting your life’s challenges and imperfections is how I define perfection.’
Coming from a multicultural and ethnic background, she was born in the Philippines. She has mixed Chinese and Filipino heritage, but she proudly identifies as British, acknowledging that the country provides abundant opportunities for personal growth and success. She takes great pride in her heritage and considers herself extremely fortunate to have experienced so much diversity early in her life. Today, she is dedicated to inspiring young women to chase their dreams and conquer any obstacles they may encounter. When asked about her journey to becoming a well-rounded individual who excels in any environment and her advice for the next generation of women, Ms Worthington shared,
‘When I was studying chemical engineering at the University of Chester, it was not a common field of education for women. Many would call me a misfit, but they would not believe me when I told them I thoroughly enjoyed it. This is what I work hard every day—to break the prejudices and preconceived notions that I do this, I cannot do that. No! I can do everything I want. I can be studious yet like modelling. I can be an entrepreneur by choice and a writer at heart. This is for all the young women who feel they have no purpose in life. Get over whatever’s stopping you; you are your biggest strength.’
Ms Worthington is an avid traveller. Having grown up in Asia and built a thriving career in Europe, she has had the opportunity to travel extensively. She highly encourages others to follow in her footsteps and explore the world. When asked about her most memorable travel experiences, Ms Worthington happily recounted,
‘Omg, I love travelling so much. More than the touristy aspect of it, I travel to learn languages and cultures and to eat local food. For me, a perfect travel destination would not be a beach or mountain; it would be a hustling, bustling city full of life where I can experience how local people live their everyday lives. Asia is very different from Europe; everything is just a different version. I love exploring new places. It is the best self-therapy one can opt for.’
Ms Worthington is currently studying at the University of Law Master of Arts in Law Conversion Course in London, United Kingdom. Her motivation to study law stems from her own personal experiences. Witnessing injustices and mistreatment fueled her desire to bring about systemic change and promote justice for minorities. Despite facing numerous challenges, she remains determined to pursue a legal education, seeking not only to understand the law but also to advocate for fairness and transparency. She is drawn to the University of Law London for its comprehensive training and expresses gratitude for being part of their prestigious institution.
Ms Worthington’s acquaintances and friends have all praised her; one of the statements shared by David Cann, who studied with her, was that ‘throughout her PhD, she has developed as a researcher and shown a passion for dissemination of her research. We have attended Eco-Innovation conferences and bootcamps as well as business festivals where she has engaged with the opportunities with her usual determination. From these opportunities, she has developed not only as a researcher but has also shown entrepreneurial spirit.’
Classmate Svetlana Bibiceva from Ms. Worthington’s undergraduate days wrote about her: ‘I’ve shared lab facilities with Sheena during our undergraduate studies. She was the student who always showed up on time, leaving the lab the last, making sure she’d done the job to the best of her abilities. She was respectful and caring; she was a great classmate to have.’
