“Elza” Movie stole the heart of all through songs.

Through a simple beautiful lullaby song……Through the intense music of love……Elsa’s songs have reached the Malayalee audience through the lively rhythms of grudge and cheating. About twenty five famous singers including Vineeth Srinivasan, Nithya Maman and Najeem Arshad have sung for the movie Elsa. Saan, the film’s director, screenwriter and lyricist, shares more details about Elsa.

Q1. The idea of the movie Elsa comes?

The idea for this film came to mind when I was working in Afghanistan with the US Army’s Defense Logistics Service. My film is also a reflection of my journey of touching Afghan life and coming to cinema. But it is not a war movie.

Q2. Why in 5 languages?

Revenge is a universal content. Therefore, we can place the story of this movie anywhere. It would be a Spanish movie if set in Spain…. If it is Korea, this will become a Korean movie… Such a content and treatment has been tried in this movie. If we take a little more effort with the effort of us making this film, we can make this picture in 5 languages… Then we and our picture will be established in 5 languages…

Q3. What makes Elsa different from other movies?

This is a revenge story. But like the usual revenge stories, here there is no murder, beating, rape in this story. Trying to tell an ordinary story in an extraordinary way. That is what makes Elsa different from other movies.

Q4. What were the challenges as a debutant director?

Being a newbie is the biggest challenge. Everything is being experienced for the first time. I enjoy that process. This experience will benefit me to do better next time.

Q5. Why 25 songs?

There will be no human who does not sing a song at least once. These are all songs that came naturally while writing Elsa’s script. First wrote 5 songs in Malayalam. All five are different songs. Jibin has beautifully composed music for my lyrics. The first is a lullaby song sung by Vineeth Srinivasan. Next is a love song sung by Nithya Mammen. The third is a love song sung by Najeem Arshad. The fourth is a travel song. The fifth is Elsa’s theme song, which tells a story of betrayal, grudge and revenge. It is believed that these are songs that will appeal to all kinds of music lovers. These 5 songs then became 25 songs in 5 languages.

Q6. Screenplay, songwriting, direction, acting along with… !

Alfred Hitchcock is my favorite director. In the films that he directs, everything comes and goes at least in a passing shot… When I came to know this, I immediately felt a desire…. to play a small role in the films that I do…. As Mammooka said, we are the only ones to promote ourselves.

Q7. Elza will be released?

Elza’s post-production work is underway. We hope to have Elza in front of you by early next year.

Q8. Who all are part of Movie Elza’s line-up…

Hollywood music director Jibin George Sebastian is composing the music for this film which has a lot of music importance. Various musicians from India and abroad have worked with Jibin for the movie Elsa. Sudhi, moved the camera for Elza. He has previously worked as an associate editor in many films like Bhramaram, Palerimanikyam and he is also the editor of the Tamil film Madhubana Kadai. The creative director of this film is Sarin, who has worked as VFX coordinator for more than sixty films including Maari 1, Maari 2 and Amy. Elza’s make-up man is Rajesh Ravi, who has worked as a make-up assistant and make-up man in more than 75 films. Elza’s production controller is Rupesh Murugan, who has done production design for more than thirty films.
