News24hours Staff : Why did you select “OfficialVybe” as your stage name?
OfficialVybe : My name was Swaggaman at first, then another rapper took my name. So, one day before I sign my deal with Blacksmoke Records I was listening to Kendrick Lamar please “Don’t Kill My Vibe“, so I was like, maybe I can make music that can vibe and groove too. I came up with the name “Official” so people of the name stealing from other rappers to let people know this is one me the only “OfficialVybe“.
News24hours Staff : When did you realize your passion for music and what really made you to contemplate about pursuing a career in music?
OfficialVybe : Well I was a fan at first I was buying other main stream artist Ludacris word the mouth album I could never understand how he put words together so well so people I grew up with was rapping and they wanted me to try it out so I started trying to rhyme and it sounded so wack it took years to get this good that I am now I love music not for the money fame and girls it was because I wanted to be a part of the culture and it’s just something I feel in love with so I knew this is what I really wanted to do.
News24hours Staff : What is the concept of your upcoming project?
OfficialVybe : Well right now I’m releasing a R&B song with artist Bonni3. We both signed a distribution deal with Equity/Roc Nation. It is a song which I re-did and made better and knew that it is a potential hit all along.
News24hours Staff : What do you think are some of your greatest challenges and your greatest attribute when it comes to your work ethic as an artist?
OfficialVybe : Everything comes with a budget. The more budget you have, the more you push your music. I don’t have no label machine behind me. It was only me helping myself and my mentor. That’s it! I work every day on my craft and I think about it all day every day on how can I make my music blow up fast. My work ethic is insane and I work harder than anyone I know.
News24hours Staff : Is there anyone you’d like to thank, any shout outs?
OfficialVybe : I would like to shout my daughter I’m doing this for her. I want to shout out my mentor Bernard over at Ruff Rhyme Records. Check him out, he got some good artist on the label.
